Water treatment and efficiency
Water Treatment & Resource Efficiency
Reverse osmosis, filtration, softening, ultrafiltration and wastewater treatment systems, plus filter housings, cartridges and membranes, specified from feed-water analysis, flow demand and the quality required at the point of use.
Typical challenges
Where customers usually start
- Scale and hardness deposits in boilers, cooling circuits and process equipment
- High dissolved solids in borewell or municipal supply
- Iron, turbidity or odour in raw water
- Effluent or sewage that must meet discharge requirements
- Rising water costs and pressure to recycle and reuse
- Existing plants needing membranes, cartridges or maintenance support
Treatment matched to feed water and end use
Every water-treatment scheme is defined by two things: what is in the water you have, and what the process, boiler, cooling system or discharge consent requires. Suspended solids, hardness, iron, organic matter and dissolved salts each call for different treatment steps, and the order of those steps matters. Sand, multimedia and carbon filters remove particles and some organics, softeners exchange hardness ions, cartridge filters protect downstream equipment, and reverse osmosis reduces dissolved salts. Wastewater, effluent and sewage treatment, together with recycling and reuse systems, address water leaving the site. This capability covers those plants and the housings, vessels, cartridges, membranes and consumables that keep them running, along with water-quality assessment, plant engineering, installation and maintenance.
Inputs that decide the design
A reliable design needs a recent feed-water analysis, the daily flow and peak demand, the treated-water quality target or applicable discharge standard, and a plan for reject water, backwash and sludge disposal. Available power, footprint, operating hours and who will operate the plant also shape the choice. Where analysis data is missing or old, sampling and testing are recommended before sizing, because treatment steps chosen without it may not suit the actual water.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a feed-water analysis needed before quoting?
The treatment steps, membrane or media selection, pre-treatment and chemical dosing all depend on what is in the feed water. Hardness, iron, silica, organics and dissolved solids each affect design differently. Without an analysis, any proposal rests on assumptions that may not hold for the actual supply.
What is the difference between a water softener and an RO plant?
A softener exchanges calcium and magnesium for sodium, reducing hardness but not total dissolved solids. Reverse osmosis forces water through a semi-permeable membrane, reducing most dissolved salts, and produces a reject stream that needs disposal. Softening is often used as pre-treatment for RO or on its own where only hardness is the issue.
Can you supply spares for an existing plant?
You can enquire about membranes, cartridges, housings and other consumables for an existing plant. Please send the make, model, element size or cartridge dimensions and any part numbers, so that suitable replacements can be identified.
Bring what you know. We’ll help structure the rest.
Share a part number, a drawing or simply the problem. Unknowns are fine — an engineer will review your enquiry.
