Stainless steel seamless pipes and tubes
Stainless steel seamless and welded pipes and tubes for hydraulic, instrumentation and process lines, in 304 and 316 grades, with pickled, polished or annealed finishes and cut lengths to suit.

Overview
Seamless stainless tube is produced by extrusion or rotary piercing, giving a tube without a longitudinal weld; welded tube is formed from strip and welded. The range covers hydraulic pipes and seamless hydraulic tube, instrumentation tubing in stainless steel and nickel alloys, and general stainless pipe and tube in round, square and rectangular sections. Instrumentation and hydraulic tubing is listed from 1.59 mm to 50 mm OD; pipe and tube sizes run from 1/2 in to 20 in. Finishes include pickled, polished and annealed, with standard lengths of 3 m and 6 m and longer lengths for some products.
Selecting stainless tube and pipe
For tube that will be used with compression or bite-type fittings, specify outside diameter, wall thickness, hardness and finish, as these affect how well the fitting grips and seals. For pipe, give nominal size and schedule. Choose 304 or 316 based on the media and environment, and state whether seamless construction is required.

Frequently asked questions
What tube details matter when using compression fittings?
Outside diameter tolerance, wall thickness, hardness and surface finish all affect how a ferrule grips and seals. Specify these together with the material grade and whether the tube is seamless or welded. If the tube will be bent on site, mention it so the temper can be considered.
What should I include in a pipe or tube enquiry?
State OD and wall thickness (or nominal size and schedule), material grade, seamless or welded, finish, length per piece and total quantity. Add the intended service so suitability can be checked. You can request mill test certificates with the supply.
