Forged threaded and socket-weld fittings
Forged socket-weld and threaded pipe fittings for small-bore process lines, including elbows, couplings, half couplings, connectors, outlets and nipples in stainless, duplex and high-alloy steels.

Overview
Forged fittings are machined from forgings rather than formed from pipe, which suits them to small-bore, higher-pressure lines. Socket-weld fittings take the pipe end into a socket and are fillet welded; threaded fittings screw onto taper-threaded pipe. The range includes elbows, tees, full and half couplings, socket-weld connectors, pipe outlets and nipples. Stainless steel 304, 316 and 316L are standard, with 6Mo-type high-alloy austenitic steel and duplex 2205 available. Duplex forged fittings are listed from 1/8 in to 4 in in 2000, 3000, 6000 and 9000 lb classes.
Selecting forged fittings
Choose the end connection first, socket-weld or threaded, according to the piping specification. Then confirm nominal size, pressure class and material grade. Threaded joints are simpler to install but are usually limited by the specification on hazardous or high-temperature service; socket-weld joints need a qualified welding procedure.

Frequently asked questions
Socket-weld or threaded: which should I choose?
Follow the piping specification for the line. Threaded fittings install without welding and suit utility or lower-risk service. Socket-weld fittings give a welded, generally more robust joint and are common on process lines. Both are made in several pressure classes, so state the class along with the end type.
What details are needed for a forged fittings quote?
Provide fitting type, nominal size, end connection, pressure class, material grade, quantity and the dimensional standard you work to. For threaded fittings, state the thread type. You can request material test certificates and heat treatment records where your project needs them.
