Spray pumps and pressure skids
Spray pumps and pressure skids supply liquid at the flow and pressure a spray system needs, combining a pump with filtration, valves, instruments and controls on a single frame ready for connection.
Overview
Every spray system depends on a reliable source of pressurised liquid. A pressure skid packages the pump with suction and discharge piping, filters or strainers, pressure regulation, gauges or switches, solenoid valves and a control panel, so it can be installed and connected as one unit. Centrifugal pumps suit higher flows at moderate pressure, while diaphragm and piston pumps suit higher pressures such as misting and fine atomisation.
Skids are usually supplied as part of a complete spray system with nozzles, manifolds, piping and controls, which can include timers, flow sensors and PLC automation.
Selecting a pump or skid
Consider total flow and the pressure needed at the nozzles, the liquid and its temperature, solids content and filtration, duty cycle, power supply, installation space, required instrumentation and the control interface with the rest of the plant. Pump type and pressure class follow from the nozzles chosen, so it helps to fix the nozzle selection first.

Frequently asked questions
What should I send to size a spray pump skid?
Provide the number and type of nozzles or total flow, the pressure required at the nozzles, pipe run lengths, the liquid and its temperature, water quality, duty cycle, available power supply and any space limits. Say how the skid should be controlled and what signals it must exchange with your plant.
Which pump type is used for spray systems?
Centrifugal pumps are common where flows are high and pressures moderate, such as washing and cooling headers. Diaphragm and piston pumps are used where higher pressure is needed, for example in misting or fine atomisation. The choice follows from the nozzles selected and the flow and pressure they need.
