Dust control & spray
Air-atomizing spray nozzles
Air-atomizing spray nozzles mix liquid with compressed air to produce fine droplets at relatively low liquid pressure, used for coating, cooling, humidification and dust suppression where controlled fine sprays are needed.

Overview
Air-atomizing nozzles use compressed air to break the liquid into fine droplets. In internal-mix designs the air and liquid meet inside the nozzle cap before leaving the orifice; in external-mix designs they meet outside, allowing liquid and air flows to be adjusted more independently. Siphon versions draw liquid without a pressurised supply. Spray patterns include narrow and wide round sprays and flat fans. The range covers internal-mix jet, siphon flat fan, wide-angle and deflected flat fan, external-mix flat fan, four-way fogger, adjustable and multi-directional types. Typical uses include coating with paint, adhesives or food glazes, cooling, humidification and dust suppression in automotive, pharmaceutical, food and agricultural applications.
Selecting an air-atomizing nozzle
Consider liquid flow and viscosity, available air and liquid pressures, compressed-air consumption, spray pattern and width, droplet size needed, whether the liquid is pressure-fed or siphon-fed, nozzle material and connection size. Liquids with suspended solids or higher viscosity may suit external-mix designs.

Frequently asked questions
Internal mix or external mix: which should I choose?
Internal-mix nozzles generally give finer atomisation for a given air supply but link the liquid and air flows, so changing one affects the other. External-mix nozzles allow liquid and air to be set independently and suit higher-viscosity liquids. The liquid properties and how precisely flow must be controlled guide the choice.
What details do you need to recommend an air-atomizing nozzle?
Give the liquid and its viscosity, required liquid flow, available liquid and compressed-air pressures, spray pattern and width at the target distance, whether the liquid can be pressure-fed or must be siphoned, preferred material and connection size. Mention any limit on compressed-air consumption.
