Dust control & spray
Flat fan spray nozzles
Flat fan spray nozzles produce a flat, sheet-like spray with a defined angle, used where liquid must be applied evenly along a line or across a moving surface for cleaning, cooling, coating or dust control.

Overview
A flat fan nozzle shapes liquid through an elliptical or slotted orifice into a fan-shaped sheet that breaks into droplets. Mounted in a row on a header, flat fan nozzles give a continuous band of coverage, which makes them well suited to conveyors, strip, washing lines and other moving surfaces. The range includes inline flat fan and inline straight jet nozzles, clip-on versions, and plastic and stainless steel models.
Typical duties include surface cleaning, degreasing and rinsing, chemical application, lubrication, cooling and quenching, coating pretreatment, road treatment, dust suppression, odour control and fire suppression.
Selecting a flat fan nozzle
Selection depends on required flow at the available pressure, spray angle and distance to the target, the liquid and its temperature, nozzle material compatibility, connection type and size, and the overlap needed between adjacent nozzles on a header. Capacity tables help match orifice size to flow and pressure.

Frequently asked questions
What should I specify when ordering flat fan nozzles?
State the required flow per nozzle, operating pressure, spray angle, distance from nozzle to target, the liquid and its temperature, preferred material, and thread type and size. For multi-nozzle headers, give the header length and nozzle spacing so the overlap can be checked. If you are replacing an existing nozzle, a photograph or sample helps.
How do I choose the nozzle material?
Brass suits many water duties, stainless steel grades suit corrosive liquids or higher temperatures, and plastics such as PP, PVDF or PVC suit many chemicals at moderate temperature. Hastelloy and titanium are options for aggressive media. Compatibility with the liquid, temperature and wear from solids decide the choice.
