Mining and minerals
Mines and mineral processing plants deal with dust at every point where rock is broken, screened and moved. We help with dust suppression, process instrumentation, conveyor automation and fabricated steelwork for these sites.
Process challenges
Common challenges on site
- Airborne dust at crusher feed and discharge points
- Dust at conveyor transfer points and chutes
- Wind-blown dust from stockpiles and open yards
- Haul road and vehicle-borne dust
- Dirty or recycled spray water blocking nozzles
- Measuring abrasive slurry and process water flows
Where the problems sit
Dust on a mineral site is rarely one problem. Primary and secondary crushers, screens, conveyor transfer points, stockpiles and haul roads each release dust in a different way, and the right control for a crusher discharge is usually wrong for an open stockpile. Water is often recycled or drawn from site sources, so filtration and nozzle choice matter as much as the spray pattern.
Alongside dust, sites need dependable measurement of slurry and process water, robust conveyor controls and steelwork for chutes, supports and access platforms that can be fabricated and installed around running plant.
How we approach a mining enquiry
We start from the dust source and the operating conditions: material, moisture tolerance, throughput, enclosure, wind exposure and available water, air and power. A site survey is normally the first step for anything beyond a single spray point, and we treat any design as provisional until those conditions have been checked.
Typical use cases
- Dry fog or mist suppression at enclosed crusher and screen points
- Spray systems at conveyor transfer points
- Stockyard sprinklers and fog cannons for open areas
- Wind fences around stockpiles
- Truck and wheel washing at site exits
- Electromagnetic flow measurement on process water lines
- Conveyor and material-handling automation
- Fabricated chutes, supports and access structures

Frequently asked questions
Can EKA Synergy share references from mining sites?
Verified project references are shared on request, where the customer has agreed to it. Tell us about your plant and the problem you are working on, and we will tell you what relevant experience and documentation we can make available before you commit to anything.
What should we send for a crusher or transfer-point dust enquiry?
Describe the material and its moisture limits, the throughput, how enclosed the point is, and what water, compressed air and power are available nearby. Photos, a layout drawing and the dust problem you are seeing (where and when) let us judge whether a site survey is needed and which suppression approach is worth assessing.
Bring what you know. We’ll help structure the rest.
Share a part number, a drawing or simply the problem. Unknowns are fine — an engineer will review your enquiry.
