Onsite industrial metal fabrication
Onsite metal fabrication brings fabricators, welders and erection crews to your plant to build, modify and install steel structures and equipment where shop fabrication or transport of large items is impractical.
Overview
Many plant items, from conveyor galleries and hoppers to sheds, silos and platforms, are too large to ship in one piece or must be fitted around existing equipment. Onsite fabrication covers cutting, fit-up, welding and erection at the customer's premises, often combined with workshop-made parts such as laser-cut and CNC-bent components or powder-coated panels. Typical scope includes structural steel, conveyor fabrication and erection, hoppers, storage silos and tanks, industrial pipe fabrication, prefabricated sheds and turnkey fabrication for process plants such as rice mills.
Work is carried out in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and galvanised steel, with welded or bolted connections and painted, galvanised or powder-coated finishes as specified.
Selecting the right scope for onsite work
Plan an onsite job around the drawings and scope, materials and thicknesses, site access and lifting arrangements, working-at-height and permit requirements, available power, and any shutdown window. Agree which parts will be made in the workshop and which on site, and the inspection and handover steps, before work starts.

What do you need to quote onsite fabrication work?
Send drawings or sketches with dimensions, the materials and thicknesses, approximate quantities or weights, the site location and access conditions, required weld and finish specifications, inspection or testing needs, and the target start date and duration. Photographs of the existing area and any plant shutdown constraints help us plan manpower and equipment.
Which parts are made in the workshop and which on site?
Items that need laser cutting, CNC bending, powder coating or controlled welding are usually made in the workshop and brought to site as sub-assemblies. Final fit-up, welding of joints that cannot be transported, erection and alignment are done on site. The split is agreed for each job, based on transport limits, lifting capacity and site conditions.
