Metric compression fittings
Metric 24-degree cutting-ring tube fittings for hydraulic systems, in light and heavy series from 6 mm to 42 mm tube OD, together with matching weld nipples, stud couplings and hydraulic tubing.

Overview
Metric compression fittings use a 24-degree cone in the body and a cutting ring that bites into seamless tube when the nut is tightened. They are the usual connection on hydraulic power packs, presses, jacks, cranes and mobile or stationary machines. Light (L) and heavy (S) series cover different tube sizes and pressure duties within the same system. The range includes equal union couplings, elbows, tees, crosses, banjo and bulkhead fittings, male stud and female couplings, UNF male stud couplings, standpipe branch tees, weld nipples and plugs, in steel, stainless steel and brass. Hydraulic and instrumentation tubing in stainless steel and nickel alloys is also available.
Selecting metric fittings
Choose the series first: light or heavy, according to the tube OD and the system pressure. Confirm tube OD and wall thickness, then the port thread on each stud fitting, since metric, BSPP, BSPT, NPT and UNF threads all appear on hydraulic components. Steel suits most mineral-oil systems; stainless steel is chosen for corrosive surroundings or water-based fluids.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between L and S series metric fittings?
Light (L) and heavy (S) series cover overlapping tube sizes but differ in body dimensions and the pressure duty they are designed for. The series also determines the nut thread, so L and S components are not mixed on the same joint. Check the series against your tube size and system pressure before ordering.
Can metric fittings connect to inch-thread ports?
Yes, stud fittings are made with different port threads, so a metric tube end can be combined with a BSPP, BSPT, NPT or UNF port end. You need to state the port thread type and size for each stud fitting. When unsure, a sample or thread gauge reading avoids mismatches.
