PLC programming and commissioning

PLC programming and on-site commissioning for new and upgraded machines and process systems, from control logic development and simulation through I/O checks, start-up and handover.

Overview

PLC programming turns the control philosophy into working logic. Programs are written in standard IEC languages such as ladder diagram, function block diagram or structured text, structured so that sequences, interlocks and alarms are clear to maintenance staff. Where possible, logic is tested offline before site work. Commissioning on site covers loop and I/O checks, device configuration, step-by-step testing of sequences and interlocks, tuning, and trial runs with the process, followed by handover of the final program and documentation.

Planning programming and commissioning

Provide a functional description or control philosophy, the I/O list, the PLC platform and software version, connected devices and protocols, and safety requirements. Agree the commissioning window, availability of utilities and product for trials, acceptance criteria, and the documentation and training expected at handover.

Frequently asked questions

What do you need to quote PLC programming?

Send a functional description of how the machine or process should operate, the I/O list, PLC model and software, details of drives, HMIs and instruments to communicate with, and any existing program for modification. Indicate where commissioning will take place and the expected timeline.

What is handed over at the end of commissioning?

You can request the final PLC program and HMI project files, an updated I/O list, commissioning check sheets, the alarm list and a short operator or maintenance guide. Agree the handover package at the start so it is prepared as the work proceeds.

Ready to specify plc programming and commissioning?

Send the details you have — quantities, sizes, drawings or a part number. Unknowns are fine.
