Digital pressure gauges
Digital pressure gauges show pressure on an electronic display instead of a dial, for servicing, calibration checks and test work. Battery and externally powered versions are available, some with an analogue output for remote reading.
Overview
A digital pressure gauge combines a pressure sensor, electronics and a numeric display in one handheld or fixed instrument. Compared with a mechanical dial, it removes parallax and interpolation errors and adds functions such as minimum and maximum hold, push-button zeroing, automatic switch-off to save the battery, and a choice of display units including bar, mbar, kPa, MPa and psi. The gauges in this category use a G 1/4 inch pressure connection and cover ranges from vacuum up to 1000 bar, with recording versions that also log temperature.
Selecting the right digital pressure gauge
Choose the range so that normal readings sit well within it, and check whether gauge or absolute pressure is needed. Decide on power: battery types are portable, while 8-28 VDC units can be fixed in place and some provide a 4-20 mA output. Consider the accuracy class needed for the job, display resolution and whether data recording is required.

Frequently asked questions
What information do you need to quote a digital pressure gauge?
Tell us the pressure range and whether gauge or absolute pressure is needed, the medium, the accuracy you require, battery or external power, whether an analogue output or data recording is needed, and the connection thread. Mention any hazardous-area use and whether you need a calibration certificate with the gauge, so the quotation can cover it.
Can a digital pressure gauge be used as a calibration reference?
A digital gauge can serve as a reference when its accuracy is suitably better than the instrument being checked and it has a current calibration certificate. The required margin depends on your quality procedure. Tell us which instruments you want to check and their accuracy, and we can suggest a suitable gauge class; you can request calibration documentation with the offer.
