Textile spinning and weaving humidification

Textile spinning and weaving humidification uses high-pressure pumps and overhead mist nozzle lines to hold humidity in ginning, pressing, spinning and weaving halls, helping manage moisture regain, static, lint and dust.

Overview

Cotton and other natural fibres respond to the humidity of the surrounding air. In ginning, pressing, spinning and weaving, dry air can lead to static, fibre fly and lint, and changes in moisture content that affect handling and bale weight. A high-pressure humidification system feeds overhead nozzle lines that release fine droplets designed to evaporate rather than wet floors or material.

Systems use stainless steel or brass nozzles, zone control with basic automation, and filtration, with additional water treatment in hard-water areas. The control panel allows seasonal adjustment, and systems can be retrofitted into existing mills. Packing zones and other areas can be included as separate zones.

Selecting a mill humidification system

Consider the hall dimensions and roof height, machine layout and heat load, existing ventilation or air-washer plant, the humidity range the process requires, water hardness and treatment, number of zones and how the system should be controlled across seasons. A site visit is normally used to confirm pipe routes and control panel location.

Frequently asked questions

What information is needed for a textile mill humidification proposal?

Send the hall dimensions and roof height, machine layout, the processes in each area, the humidity range you aim to hold, existing ventilation or humidification equipment, water source and hardness, and power supply. Indicate how many zones you need and whether the system is new or a retrofit.

Can the system be added to an existing mill?

Overhead nozzle lines and a pump unit can usually be retrofitted into an existing building, routed around roof structure and machinery. A site visit is used to check mounting points, pipe routes, water supply and control panel location before design.

Send the details you have — quantities, sizes, drawings or a part number. Unknowns are fine.
