Odour control misting systems
Odour control misting systems release a fine mist of water or an odour-neutralising solution along boundaries, over process areas or at specific sources to help control odours at waste, wastewater and industrial sites.

Overview
Odour control misting uses a pump, filtration and fine nozzles mounted on lines around a site perimeter, above tanks and process areas, or near specific odour sources. The mist carries water or a diluted neutralising agent into the air, where it can interact with odour-causing compounds and help reduce their spread beyond the site. Typical locations include landfills, waste transfer stations, sewage and effluent treatment plants, composting areas and industrial processes that release odours. Systems can run on timers, from sensors, or according to wind direction, and dosing equipment can add the treatment chemical at a controlled rate.
Selecting an odour control system
Consider the odour sources and their locations, site boundary and neighbours, prevailing wind, whether water alone or a treatment agent will be used, water quality, power supply and the control method. A site visit helps place lines where they will be most useful.

Frequently asked questions
What information is needed for an odour control misting proposal?
Share a site layout showing odour sources and the boundary, nearby receptors, prevailing wind directions, the treatment agent if one is already used, water source, power supply and preferred control method. Photographs of the areas where lines would be installed help plan routing.
Do I need a chemical agent or can water be used?
Some systems use water alone, while others dose an odour-neutralising agent into the water. The choice depends on the type of odour, site conditions and any restrictions on chemicals. If you already use or prefer a particular agent, let us know so compatibility with pumps and nozzles can be checked.
