Commercial reverse-osmosis plants

Compact reverse-osmosis plants for offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, apartment blocks and packaged drinking water units, sized for commercial demand where a domestic purifier is too small.

Overview

Commercial RO plants combine sediment and activated-carbon pre-treatment, a high-pressure pump and RO membranes, with an optional UV steriliser or ozonator on the product water. They are built on SS 304 or FRP frames with either digital or PLC control and can be supplied for semi-automatic or fully automatic operation. A clean-in-place (CIP) connection can be added so membranes can be chemically cleaned without removal.

Installation normally follows a water-quality test, preparation of plumbing and electrical points, assembly of membranes and pre-filters, and calibration of the controls before handover.

Selecting the right commercial RO plant

The deciding factors are daily drinking or process water demand, peak draw, feed water TDS and hardness, and whether treated water must be stored. Packaged drinking water units usually need ozonation and higher automation, while canteens and offices may need only UV. Frame material, panel type and space for storage tanks should be confirmed at the site survey.

Frequently asked questions

How often does a commercial RO plant need servicing?

Source guidance indicates pre-filters are typically changed every three to six months, membranes every 18 to 24 months and the system sanitised around every six months. Actual intervals depend heavily on feed water quality and daily run hours, so a service schedule should be agreed after the feed water has been tested and the plant has been running for some time.

What do you need to quote a commercial RO plant?

Tell us the type of premises, the number of users or litres needed per day, the water source (borewell, municipal or tanker), and a recent test report showing TDS and hardness if available. Also mention whether you need UV or ozone treatment, the space available, and whether a storage tank is already in place.
